Position

This position is responsible for the electrical design of Dynapower’s power conversion products and will join a dynamic team on the forefront of multiple market segments.  This position will participate in setting the product strategy and new product introductions for the Industrial, High Power, Military and Hydrogen divisions within Dynapower.  

Essential Functions

  • Work cross functionally with other groups to collaborate on new power electronic product design for all Dynapower’s business segments.
  • Work with the marketing, sales, procurement, and engineering teams to design cost effective and efficient product
  • Collaboration with engineering and supply chain teams to deliver quick time-to-market products.
  • Review customer specifications and ensure the designed product meets all technical, budget, and schedule requirements
  • Work closely with mechanical engineering to support the product design and manufacturing drawings
  • Specification and selection of electrical components: Switchgear, Fuses, Sensors, Switching Semiconductors, Interface Circuitry, Wiring Harnesses, Circuit boards, Control Panel components
  • Schematic design and drafting using Autocad Electrical as well as some circuit board design
  • Selection of parts and creation of bills of materials using ERP software
  • Support in-house contract manufacturing as well as test teams during product builds
  • Provide Customer technical support via email and phone, support field service technicians during service / commissioning at customer sites
  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects and ability to manage changing priorities based on the needs of the business

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working for an electrical equipment manufacturer – preferably in the power electronics and renewable energy industry.
  • 3-5 years in a product design role – proven track record of successful deployment of manufactured product.
  • Experience using Autocad and AutoCad Electrical preferred.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and orally
  • Microsoft PC suite programs is a requirement
  • Knowledge of electronic board level design software OrCAD Capture
  • PLC and HMI software knowledge required (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
 
Work Environment
This position is based in South Burlington, VT.  The position operates in both a professional office environment and manufacturing environment. Regular trips to manufacturing floor or other manufacturing plants for observation, research or customer visits may be required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, salary-exempt position.  Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6 am to 5 pm.  This position may require periodic off hours and weekend work.
 
Travel
This position requires periodic travel. 
 
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
This position may involve access to ITAR (International Traffic and Arms Regulations)-controlled information, requiring verification of US-immigration status which is used solely for determining applicable ITAR licensing requirements.
