  • Position

    This position is responsible for receiving our customer’s equipment, cleaning it, evaluating what must be done to return it to the condition they desire and performing the agreed upon work scope.

    Essential Functions

    Performs the duties and responsibilities commensurate with the assigned functional area within a department(s) which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:

    • Observe all safety and plant regulations and report violations immediately
    • Frequent communication and collaboration with our service engineers, along with other Dynapower manufacturing departments
    • Evaluate environmental and health hazards specific to each customer return
    • Read MSDS sheets and perform swipe tests on surfaces using proper PPE and handle waste properly
      • Contain or clean returned rectifiers as needed
      • Contain- do not clean unit; rather minimize contact and use plastic wrap or other means to keep dirt on units following service engineering procedures
    • Clean- power wash unit as needed. Store waste for proper disposal. Dispose of waste in environmentally friendly manner per factory procedures
    • Perform visual inspection of damaged components
    • Perform electrical test of unit to determine damaged components
    • Find component part numbers on Bill of Materials or Configured BOMs
    • Provide concise, informative reports to customer service to facilitate price quotes
    • Perform repairs
    • Occasional customer contact is required
    • Help in other departments where qualified when there is no RMA work available
    • Keep area organized and clean

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Have a diverse set of skills including:
      • Final assembly/disassembly
      • Panel wiring/re-wiring
      • Welding
      • Transformer assembly/disassembly
      • Thyristor assembly/disassembly
    • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
    • Very strong mechanical skills
    • Ability to weld and fabricate a plus
    • Strong electrical assembly and troubleshooting skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work well with all levels of Dynapower employees and our customers
    • Familiarity with MS Office products, and the ability to learn Avante inventory transactions
    • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment with a broad set of tasks and responsibilities

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
     
    Work Environment
    This position is based in South Burlington, VT.  The position operates in both a professional office environment and manufacturing environment. Regular trips to manufacturing plants for observation, research or customer visits are likely to be required.
     
    Physical Demands
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. This position is very active and requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
     
    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.  This position may require periodic off hours and weekend work.
     
    Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
    This position may involve access to ITAR (International Traffic and Arms Regulations)-controlled information, requiring verification of US-immigration status which is used solely for determining applicable ITAR licensing requirements.
