    This position is responsible for the assembly and finishing of the transformer components that make up rectifiers, cast transformers and oil filled transformers.

    Essential Functions

    Performs the duties and responsibilities commensurate with the assigned functional area within the Transformer Department which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:

    • Observe all safety and plant regulations, supporting our safety culture
    • Fabricate copper connecting tabs per engineering print
    • Set-up stacks and interleave sheet steel into transformer core’s cast, rectifier and oil filled
    • Place coils on pre-stacked cores and wedges per engineering specification
    • Mount and secure core clamps and angles per engineering specification
    • Operate and maintain dust booth
    • Measure, adjust, drill, coil windings and space and block per engineering specification
    • Ensure leader inspects product and completes traveler before moving to next area
    • Run core cutter
    • Operate vacuum dip tank and bake oven per proper procedure
    • MIG welding of steel
    • Ensure quality of the finished product leaving the area and that all inspection and quality sheets are complete prior to the product leaving the area
    • Keep area organized and clean

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Must be able to read and interpret engineering prints and parts list
    • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
    • Computer data entry skills a plus
    • Gas brazing and soldering experience
    • Ability to visualize final product and infer assembly detail from engineering documentation
    • Ability to read and interpret various measuring instruments
    • Good interpersonal, team skills
    • Basic computer skills


    - High school diploma or equivalent

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    Work Environment
    This job works in a manufacturing production environment. This role routinely uses standard personal protective equipment such as required Safety Glasses and Safety shoes as well as hearing protection and gloves, as required.
    Physical Demands
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly must see, talk and hear. This position is very active and requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must often lift and/or move items over 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities needed by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Noise level exposure may be above normal but below 85 decibels.
    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This position requires periodic off hours and weekend work.
    No travel is required for this position.
    Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
    This position involves access to ITAR (International Traffic and Arms Regulations)-controlled information, requiring verification of US-immigration status which is used solely for determining applicable ITAR licensing requirements
