  • Position

    This position is responsible for inspecting, testing and repairing all Dynapower product lines.

    Essential Functions

    Performs the duties and responsibilities commensurate with the assigned functional area within a department(s) which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:

    • Observe all safety and plant regulations and report violations immediately
    • Evaluate and process minor upgrades on RMA units
    • Receive and understand the folder with the controlled updated schematics
    • Identify the right voltage source for unit under test
    • Identify the right load bank for unit under test
    • Bring the assigned unit from test queue to appropriate test bay. Fork lift license required.
    • Ground the unit using appropriate ground wire
    • Connect the input power using the appropriate size cables
    • Connect the load bank using the right size and number of cables
    • Connect the coolant supply using the right size hose and fittings (if fluid cooled)
    • Before energizing, check for loose connections and mis-wired components
    • Perform minor wiring as needed
    • Crimp connectors on wires and identify different connector style and size
    • Troubleshoot the equipment if necessary
    • Accurately identify resistors and capacitors
    • Before using test equipment, always check power cords, extension cords, multimeter leads, etc. for insulation breakdown and other defects
    • Load the software to PLC, HMI, etc. as required
    • Perform the test following the provided test plan
    • Collect and record the test data using the provided instrumentation
    • Determine whether the test data falls within the standard limits as specified in the test plan
    • Bring up any discrepancies in test data to the team leader and design engineer
    • Return all hand tools and test equipment to their designated storage area
    • Keep area organized and clean

    Minimum Job Requirements

    • Must have working knowledge of AC/DC theory, Ohm’s Law and be familiar with 3 phase power low and medium voltage
    • Ability computer skills required
    • Ability to read electric and electronic diagrams
    • Ability to read and interpret various measuring instruments
    • Possess good interpersonal skills

    Education

    2-year electrical degree or equivalent

    - Ability to carry (pull cables across the floor) up to 110-150 lbs at a time
